Decision vs. Choice

May 19, 2022

He said dejectedly, “I have made the decision to stay
until the end of the year.” Then his shoulders slumped.

She said, “Whoa! That decision sounds like a non-
negotiable jail sentence.

“I am curious, what happens when you switch out the word
decision for the word choice? What happens to your body?”

He didn’t have to say a word. His body said it all.
His eyes softened. Color came back into his cheeks.
He sat up straighter. He smiled.

Notice the different energies between the word
decision and the word choice.

Empowering ourselves through words is such
an easy task and yet so often we forget.

Meg is a great coach and teacher. She has very kind presence and incorporates variety of exercises and approaches to coaching which makes learning fun and interesting. The NVC proves to be the language of life and I love to see all of us really live this language with people around us.

[Dynamic Trio] was truly the highlight of my week. I loved the material that we covered and the positive energy of Ann-Marie. I recommend this class to anyone who is looking for new exercises or experience possibilities for their clients. But I give an even stronger recommendation or anyone looking for continuing self-care. Such a wonderful personal and professional opportunity.

This course [Body Electric] really teaches you how to dive deep into somatic awareness. I was looking to get more comfortable with this practice and the class exceeded my expectations from the book to the instructor, Ann-Marie, to the guest lecturers. Many “WOW” moments as I used the techniques for myself and with my clients.

More than just a class to help us eat more mindfully, Mindful Eating, Mindful Life is a great class for anyone interested in the topic, anyone with a desire to practice mindfulness in a new way and for anyone wanting to dust off or deepen their meditation practice. The course and materials may seem small, but they are so expansive. Thanks to Brittany for bringing this topic alive and for the school for providing such an amazing course in mindfulness.

[Writing, Creativity, and the Mindful Coach] provides a unique space for combined practice of mindfulness and creativity through writing which enriches our effectiveness as coaches. It’s a special opportunity to continue to hone our use of our core competencies while also gaining the ability to go deeper. On the one hand, it allows us coaches to learn skills and establish patterns for doing our own essential “inner work” that helps us to be authentic and real in our work with clients. And on the other hand, it sets us up with tools that are relevant and useful for our clients. This kind of course stretches us beyond the “mechanics” of coaching and therefore makes us relevant and truly relatable resources for our clients.
