What Dance is Dancing You?

What Dance Is Dancing You?

September 2,1993 I witnessed Mikhail Baryshnikov become the dance at the Santa Fe Opera. I wept as the sun went down over the Jemez Mountains and the dance danced him. It was a sacred, holy time. He. Was. The. Dance.

Becoming the dance didn’t happen miraculously for him that early fall evening. It took decades of practice, discipline, embodiment and inspiration. It took finding and working with mentors. It took staying focused. It took sacrificing and saying no in order to say yes to the dance, one hundred percent.

What dance is dancing you? What are you practicing? What are you focusing on? What are you sacrificing so you can say yes to your dance 100%?

To determine what dance is dancing you…look who you have become.

If you find your dance is not a reflection of who you want to become… change the music. Restructure the choreography of your life and leap into the air!

Become the dance you have always known was there. Let the dance dance you…

Testimonials

In this class, the “engaged” piece of Engaged Mindfulness is just as important as the “mindfulness” piece. I was inspired by this dynamic exploration of the subject of mindfulness, from the evidence-based, scientific arena — where we learn about the measurable, practical benefits to humankind of mindfulness practice — to the deeply personal space — where I clarified and re-engaged my own meditation practice both on the cushion and in how I move through the world

This course [Skillful Means]  helped me to understand and practice with the specific skills in coaching. It definitely equipped me to be a better coach.

This course [Body Electric] really teaches you how to dive deep into somatic awareness. I was looking to get more comfortable with this practice and the class exceeded my expectations from the book to the instructor, Ann-Marie, to the guest lecturers. Many “WOW” moments as I used the techniques for myself and with my clients.

Writing, Creativity and the Mindful Coach takes each of these key components and weaves them together to create an effective tool for coaching. It allows both coach and client different ways to dive deeper into the coaching agenda and help the client uncover thoughts/feelings that might be illusive in a safe way.

[Right Speech] was incredibly valuable for my coaching skills, and for my life. There was so much applicable information presented in an embodied and pragmatic way. [Meg Hess, PCC, D. Min.] has an ability to evoke wisdom from everyone.

Right Speech simply knocked my socks off. I eagerly read every book, every article or other reference with delight. I cannot begin to say how much I learned about myself in this course and how I can apply things like non-violent communication, vulnerability, and the 12 Pathways to my everyday life, both personally and professionally. Taking this course in tandem with The Art of Engaged Mindfulness could not have been a better pairing. I look forward to taking every course that you offer.

The Art of Engaged Mindfulness allowed me to become more flexible with my own established meditation practice. I really enjoyed the opportunity to dialogue with fellow coaches interested in deepening their own practice and sharing it with the world.

[The Dynamic Trio] was a great class that mixed experiential learning with incredible tools that I could use immediately with clients.  Ann-Marie was an incredible instructor with a myriad of knowledge and experience from many different backgrounds. I really appreciated her ability to interact so personally and intentionally with students in the class all while teaching a strong skill set.

All of the courses at the Mindfulness Coaching School take a student deeper into meaningful skills and personal growth. I am not the same person I was when I began this program. As a coach, the school has given me ways to own the skill set needed. As a person, classes like The Art of Engaged Mindfulness deepen my commitment to a lifestyle of awareness and centered gratitude. I am grateful.
