Engaging in Focusing and Bearing Witness

Apr 3, 2022

Can keep depression away…

191205 Gandolf focused on the hanging crystal while bearing witness to all that is.

Why? Because with mind training the negative self-
talk, stagnant qi and isolative behavior of depression
is put in the back parking lot of your mind to rest.

Make this your own personal experiment:
Let your eyes focus on an inanimate object. Notice.
Keep focusing. Notice what arises in you? Keep
focusing. Bear witness on your world just like Gandolf
the Cat is doing. What do you notice about your
thoughts? Keep focusing in tandem with bearing
witness. What do you notice now?

To know more about how mindfulness can be an
antidote to depression enroll in The Art of Engaged
Mindfulness
class. Here’s the academic calendar link
to view our Winter, 2020 classes.

Right Speech is not only something you can take into your coaching practice but it’s something you can take into your personal life as well. These skills have already been extremely helpful in my everyday life from encounters with family to encounters with strangers and everything in between. You won’t regret taking it, I promise!

I recommend that all coaches, regardless of the industry in which they work or the type of coaching that they do, explore mindfulness coaching. The skills practiced and explored in the Mindfulness Coaching School promote successful coaching outcomes. For example, practicing the skill, “global listening” was powerful. As a seasoned coach, I will integrate more global listening into my coaching engagements, knowing the power of this skill to provoke powerful questions can drive positive forward movement.

The Art of Engaged Mindfulness has been one of my favorite classes at the Mindfulness Coaching School. I truly appreciate how Ann-Marie has combined the science and spirit of mindfulness. She creates space for students to play and get creative with meditation and find their path to practice. And the resources provided for further learning are priceless!

This class [The Dynamic Trio] is not only something that will help you bring more light into others’ lives but will also be beneficial for your own. The content was priceless and made me a better person.

Right Speech is a critical prerequisite to helping all conversations in life unfold with clarity and understanding. I wish something like this were taught to all students in our early K-12. Just imagine how the world would improve!

Simply put, when I was taught coaching by a popular institute, I learned to coach thoughts and feelings. When I was taught The Dynamic Trio: EMDR, Positive Psychology, and Somatic Coaching at MCS, I learned how to feel those feelings and release them. The mind and body connected; this was the missing link for me.
